Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to suggest a process for ontology design and its application. Current knowledge modeling methodologies tend to focus on the particular task, which makes them difficult to be reused. In this paper, we propose three different ontology models suitable for modeling large scale type domains. We apply the models to the problem domain of petroleum waste management, and discuss knowledge representation at the different levels of ontologies.
