The opportunity to make metallographic replicas from aluminum foil by means of knurling is investigated. The force to be applied
to a roller for the contact surface of foil to adequately replicate a steel metallographic specimen microstructure is determined.
The device for making aluminum replicas for non-destructive testing of a steam pipeline microstructure is made and tested
under the thermal power plant conditions.
