Abstract

Construction site projects are characterised by high complexity, cost intensiveness and tight deadlines. Access to knowledge and experiences from actual and previous projects is from essential importance. The building construction site is a place, where knowledge intensive tasks are performed and information from high importance is generated. In a feasibility study different technologies and methodologies have been evaluated, always considering the special requirements of civil engineering projects. This report shows the main points of this study. It introduces a scenario and generalises the requirements for a practical approach for knowledge management. The report focuses on the process from the appearance of an incident, over documentation and storage in the system, to the reuse of this knowledge in a related case.
