Abstract

This paper describes our ongoing work on developing a holistic approach for the introduction and improvement of KM in an organization. The described methodology does not focus on a specific area but considers all layers of an organization, the organizational, the process and the technology layer. The overall approach will consist of two main components: a KM Measures Repository and a KM Maturity Model. The KM Measures Repository contains best practice measures for each layer. The KM Maturity Model allows an organization to describe itself. Both components will be made “machine executable” and included in a self assessment tool which uses different KM technologies.
