This paper deals with a collection of freshwater red algae from Peninsular Malaysia. Five species and one variety of them,
Ballia pinnulata, Batrachospermum beraense, B. cylindrocellulare, B. tortuosum, Caloglossa ogasawaraensis var.
latifolia and
Tuomeya gibberosa are described here as new taxa and the other three species,
Batrachospermum vagum, Hildenbrandia rivularis and
Sirodotia delicatula are recorded here for the first time from Malaysia.
