The genus
Bunchosia is ascribed to Humboldt, Bonpland & Kunth and should be cited as
Bunchosia Rich.
ex H.B.K. Three new Central American species,
B. brevisurcularis,
B. ternata, and
B. tutensis, are described, illustrated and plotted on a distribution map.
