The NAG Parallel Library is a portable library of routines for solving numerical problems, written specifically for use on
parallel computing systems, including both dedicated parallel machines such as the IBM SP2, Hitachi SR2201 and SGI Origin
2000 as well as clusters of UNIX and Linux workstations and PCs.
During the last two and half years NAG have been coordinating the European project PINEAPL, an ESPRIT project in the area
of High Performance Computing and Networking with the main objective of producing a general-purpose library of parallel numerical
library suitable for a wide range of computationally intensive industrial applications.
Results from the PINEAPL Project will be included in the NAG Parallel Library for solving numerical problems on high-performance
computers. The close cooperation between end-users and developers in the PINEAPL Project will ensure that the contents of
this library will meet the needs of industry as the adoption of parallel computing have increased in past few years.
