Abstract
Planning processes are often used in dialogue systems to recognize the intentions conveyed in dialogue. The generation of utterances can also be achieved by a planning/execution mechanism. Some advantages of this kind of mechanism are: knowledge sharing, modular design, declarative description, etc. In this paper, we present some planning mechanisms and the related models enabling the dialogue management (generation and understanding).
