We present a review of the main results of the recently developed nonlocal Josephson electrodynamics. A nonlinear integro-differential
equation for the phase difference is derived and its applicability to different problems is discussed. Fluxons and electromagnetic
waves propagating along a tunnel junction are examined in detail. Features specific for the limiting case of a Josephson junction
in a very thin film are considered.
