A prospective study was undertaken to evaluate oral methotrexate pulsed therapy in 6 cases of Eales disease presenting with
perivasculitis. Methotrexate was administered (7.5 mg weekly) for 3 months. The therapy was tolerated well, and retinal perivasculitis
subsided in all cases. Five patients achieved excellent visual acuity—6/6 (20/20) or better. Elevated titers of C-reactive
protein returned to normal after therapy. Six-month follow-up revealed no recurrence of the disease.
