Dr. Brian Beatty is an assistant professor in the instructional technologies department at San Francisco State University,
where he teaches courses in instructional systems design, distance education, e-learning development and project management.
His areas of interest and academic research include social interaction in online learning, content analysis of CMC discussions,
supporting self-regulating behavior in self-paced online education and training courses, and developing instructional design

Dr. Connie Ulasewicz is an assistant professor in the program of apparel design and merchandising at San Francisco State University.
Her areas of specialization include textiles, visual merchandising, product development and the social psychology of clothing.
Her research areas include social responsibility in the apparel industry, specifically social justice and sustainability.
Dr Ulasewicz feels technology is imperative to her pedagogy; student-centered with much collaboration and sharing of student
knowledge and skills. The Moodle system is supportive of her innovative approach toward the apparel curriculum and enhances
