The paper presents the agent system [4] for monitoring the state of background load of machines in the heterogeneous computer network. We assume, that the background load of the machine is the load derived from executing users applications. This additional load has great influence on the execution time of the distributed application. The agent system is defined basing on the Social Power theory [5] and is implemented using Java language and CORBA communication services.
