The synthesis and X-ray crystal structure of 1-(2,3:5,6-di-
O-isopropylidene-β-D-mannofuranosyl)-1
H-[1,2,3]triazol-4,5-dicarboxylic acid diethyl ester are reported. It crystallizes in the orthorhombic system with space group

Z=4. The solid state structure verifies the β-anomeric form of the title compound and provides evidence for the structures
of the azide and chloride precursors.
