The genusFabronia in South America is found to represent five taxa:F. ciliaris var.ciliaris, F. ciliaris var.wrightii,F. ciliaris var.polycarpa,F. macroblepharis andF. jamesonii. Synonymy, brief discussion, illustrations and a key are provided.Fabronia enervis Herz., hom. illeg., is the basis for the new genusMahua.
