Barry Edmonston is director, Population Research Center and professor, School of Urban Studies and Planning at Portland State
University. He served as the study director of the National Academy of Sciences’s review of the requirements for the U.S.census
and co-edited with Charles Schultze the results of the review, entitled Modernizing the U.S. Census.
