Abstract
The OHSWG has by now moved from specifications to running code. This is an important step, not only because this is the only
way of maturing the specifications, but also because it strengthens the credibility of the OHSWG. Showing that the ideas expressed
by the OHSWG can be implemented is however not enough, at least not if we desire a wider audience than ourselves. Concomitantly
the XLink standard has begun to take shape, metadata on the Web seems to be on the rise, and interconnectedness is sharply
rising with various small devices (such as WAP phones and PDAs) gaining access to the Internet. We are living in interesting
times. Based on the experiences of developing the Arakne Environment, the author attempts to point out some worthwhile directions
for future work within the OHSWG.
