EVENTMANAGER is a tool that supports peripheral awareness by ena- bling users to be notified when events of interest take place within their work- place environment. Our initial implementation of the tool allows users to speci- fy events based on people and their locations within the physical environment, e.g., the event of Joe entering his office. We describe the context of the envi- ronment in which the tool is used, the event specification language, the features embodied in the interfaces and some potential extensions for future versions of the tool.
