Abstract

The research project ServiceWorld1 aims at developing a virtual community to support knowledge management in the field of after-sales service for machine and plant construction industries. Based on an existing service management reference model, a service community reference model and a service knowledge model were developed. Relevant services were identified and implemented in a community software prototype. First experiences of the pilot implementation at a heavy weight machine manufacturer will be available by the end of the year 2002.
