Abstract

1. In mice,reserpine (5 mg/kg) causes a long-lasting depletion of the brain for gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), which corresponds temporally to the lowered seizure threshold (electroshock).
2.Iproniazid prohibits both the depletion of GABA and the lowering of seizure threshold.
3. Relations between amine- and GABA-metabolism of the brain are pointed out.
