We present an evaluation of the INSIGNIA signaling system that supports quality of service in mobile ad hoc networks. INSIGNIA
is based on an in-band signaling and soft-state resource management paradigm that is well suited to supporting mobility with
end-to-end quality of service in highly dynamic environments where the network topology, node connectivity and radio channel
conditions are time-varying. We evaluate the performance of the signaling system and show the benefit of our scheme under
diverse mobility, traffic and channel conditions.
