XML is emerging as the main standard of presentation and exchange on the Internet. This highlights the important question
of XML to XML transformation. In this paper, a flexible index structure, FIXT, is presented for efficient XML transformation.
It is easy to extract and reconstruct subparts of FIXT index to build indexes for intermediate results. Thus, it can improve
the performance of XML to XML transformation.
