Abstract

A new, previously unknown, phase that occurs in a three-component system of transition metal oxides, Fe2O3-V2O5-WO3, has been obtained from a reaction taking place in the solid state. The phase with the molecular formula, Fe8V10W16O85, melts incongruently at 830±5°C.
