In the USA, end-stage liver disease (ESLD) is a major cause of morbidity and mortality among ethnic minorities. Ethnic populations
vary with respect to chronic liver disease prevalence, access to transplantation, and therapeutic outcomes post liver transplantation.
These ethnic differences present unique challenges to healthcare professionals involved in the care of patients with chronic
liver disease prior and post transplantation. This review will discuss the variations and challenges of liver transplantation
in the ethnic minority population.
