Abstract

In an extremely interesting text, Sir Peter Hall, in Cities of Tomorrow, managed to depict with great effectiveness the multiple, often incommensurable, planning cultures. He made use of outstanding testimonials – eminent personalities and noteworthy places and stories (Hall, 1988). With a pleasing narrative style, he helped us understand the problems of cities and planning better than many essays on theory or methodology.
