The paper develops value based management guidelines from the famous Indian treatise on management, Kautilya's
Arthashastra. Guidelines are given for individual components of a total framework in detail, which include guidelines for organizational philosophy, value based leadership, internal corporate culture, accomplishment of corporate purpose and feedback from stakeholders.

. Prof. U. S. Rao is presently the Dean of School of Business Management, Accounting and Finance in Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning.
