Abstract
The Internet has made it possible to distribute and exchange various forms of digital media (e.g., music, video, etc.) cheaply.
End-users now have an effective, low cost means to distribute, search and obtain digital content. Some end-users now even
expect the content to be free, causing the intellectual property to holders find new approaches to obtain revenues from the
use of the content. As new technology is being developed to make it easier to obtain digital content, a fast growing industry
is forming to control the use of digital content. Here we discuss the Financial Cryptography 2001 panel on protecting digital
rights.
