This paper presents the case study of a 40 year old married man who sustained an incomplete C4-5 spinal cord injury with occipital
lobe head trauma during an automobile accident in 1980. The event left him with a motor status of quadriplegia, significant
speech aphasia, and severely impaired vision. It provides an overview of Dr. Schmiedl’s background and his use of assistive
technology during his doctoral program in neuropsychology.
