Abstract

Multiple scattering measurements in the spark chamber require a theory that takes account of the inhomogeneous structure of such a chamber consisting of plates and gaps. Such a theory is developed here. The distribution of the second differences of the lateral separation of the sparks from a straight line is given, also its mean value is calculated. The radial and angular distribution functions for arbitrary distances in the chamber are derived.
