In the first volume of his journal,Isis, Lorenz Oken had intended to publish a review of the Wartburg Festival (Wartburgfest) of 1817; this issue, No. 195, was censored and confiscated. Accompanied by brief remarks on the life and work of Oken andIsis, this issue No. 195 will be published for the first time along with a bibliographical list of the books and journals which had been burned at the Wartburgfest according to Oken.
