Abstract
The subject of this paper is work that is being undertaken to define an interface for configuration management between peer
service providers needing to cooperate in a deregulated telecommunications service market. The paper describes the context
in which the work is being undertaken, the approach adopted, and the current status of the work in developing an information
model that is both protocol and technology independent. The resulting object model is presented and experiences in protocol
and technology independent modelling are discussed.
