Abstract

Solitary rectal ulcer syndrome is a very rare cause of rectal bleeding in both children and adults. It is of importance in that it may mimic other, more serious rectal pathology such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, villous papilloma, or carcinoma. We report an unusual cause of rectal bleeding in a child due to solitary rectal ulcer syndrome with a review of the literature.
