Integrating legacy relational databases is important for both Grid and Semantic Web applications. This chapter elaborates
on several issues relevant to data integration in the Semantic Grid environment. Specifically, the chapter presents an intelligent
framework with a formal mapping system to bridge the gap between a relational data model and semantic web languages. It also
studies the problem of reasoning and query answering using views based upon the formal mapping system.
