Although cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) can image myocardial perfusion with many methods, first-pass perfusion studies
using gadolinium contrast have the highest signal-to-noise ratio and most extensive published experience. This chapter focuses
primarily on the basic principles and clinical applications of first-pass myocardial perfusion studies.
