Abstract

This article examines the issue of reducing noise and vibration in forging shops. Results are presented from studies organized to develop designs of vibration-proofing devices for hammers in these shops’ since such hammers are the main vibrationally active equipment in the shops. Durable and highly efficient sound suppressors have been designed to alleviate aerodynamic noise from the most active sources — the air distributors of the control systems of presses in forging shops. Recommendations are given on use of the proposed measures in these facilities.
