The present study was conducted in the department of E.N.T., M.L N. Medical College, Allahabad on seven normal new borns and
infants less than one year of age. BERA was done on these infants. Average time required was about 45 minutes. It was found
that maturation of auditory pathway starts in the first week of life and further, that maturation occurs more in the first
six months of life than in the next six months.
