Rotator cuff tears are one of the more common injuries.1,2 Most managing physicians agree that symptomatic tears require repair.3,4 Although traditionally repairs have been performed by open techniques, the advent of arthroscopic technique has increased our understanding of tear patterns and the need for anatomical restoration of the insertional footprint of the rotator cuff.5
