Abstract

Severe acute alcohol intoxication (blood alcohol concentration 0.8permil) after percutaneous absorption through damaged skin was demonstrated in a two year old girl; bandages soaked with ethanol had been applied to the left arm and the coxofemoral area as preoperative preparation for plastic surgery.
