A new
Eimeria sp., E. polydaedali is described from the intestinal contents of two Nile monitors,
Varanus niloticus. The sporulated oocysts measure 16.8–25.3 by 15.7–24.0
(mean 20.2 by 18.1) and they contain four sporocysts measuring 12–17.3 by 6.7–9.3
(mean 15.3 by 8.3).
