Abstract

1.  A study was made of the high-temperature structure of alloys in the composition region bounded by the Mo-TiC-Ti triangle of the ternary system Mo-Ti-C.
2.  It is shown that, in the region investigated, there is continuous transition from congruent alloy solidification to incongruent. The transitional conodal triangle lies at a temperature of 2165DaggerC.
3.  The boundary of the homogeneity region of (Ti, Mo)C1–x solid solutions in equilibrium with (Mo, Ti) solid solutions on the solidus surface was determined.
4.  The direction of conodes in the two-phase delta+Bgr region on the solidus surface was established.
