Abstract

1.  The Weltmann test is a valuable office procedure.
2.  A reduction of the C.B. to four is almost certain evidence of the presence of an exudative or malignant process.
3.  The Weltmann test has prognostic significance in that a return toward normal indicates healing.
4.  For general use the determination of the coagulation band is of greater value than the sedimentation rate of the red blood cells. The Weltmann reaction occurs earlier in the course of the disease. It does not have as many variables as the sedimentation rate.
