This paper presents the MOTIVATE project funded by the European Commission and will give first results of laboratory measurements,
field trials and simulations of an optimised receiver in the framework of the MOTIVATE (Mobile Television and Innovative Receivers)
project funded by the European Commission. These two major streams of innovation are expected from this project:

Specification for an optimised DVB-T receiver for mobile reception, |

Implementation guidelines for planning of mobile DVB-T networks. |
Finally, this paper should give an outlook on first mobile services that will exploit results of the MOTIVATE project. Applications
designed for the specific needs of the car environment will be introduced with an outlook IFA’99.
