Fabrics made of poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) and glass fibres were coated with different modified inorganic—organic
hybrid polymers based on 3-glycidyloxpropyl trimethoxysilane. In the case of PET the focus was to affect the surface specific
properties especially the hydrophobic, oleophobic and hydrophilic properties. The glass fibre fabric was finished with a composite
that improves the wear resistance.
