Abstract

Malayometastrongylus diardinematus n. g., n. sp. is described from the lungs of Rattus rattus diardii in Malaysia. It is distinguished from the other genera of the family Angiostrongylidae by the elongate, unlobed terminal bursa, the terminal, distinct dorsal ray, the presence of sclerotized rods supporting the alae on the spicules, the shape of the gubernaculum and the shape of the female tail. Angiostrongylus malaysiensis was also identified in the blood vessels of the same lungs. Thaistrongylus harinasutai is redescribed and figured from R. berdmorei in Thailand and the generic diagnosis is emended. ac]19841003
