Abstract

The value of the geopotential on the geoid, W0, is computed, as well as the scale actor for lengths, R 0 =GM/W 0 , from the GEM 3 and GEM 4 systems; the systems SE I, II, III and GEM 3, 4 are compared, and the parameters of the best-fitting tri-axial Earth ellipsoid are computed.
