This paper presents field data and numerical modelling results for structural controls on copper skarn mineralization in the
Fenghuangshan copper deposit. Tensional fractures overlapping the igneous contact zone are well-mineralised and developed
as a result of far-field tectonic stress and/or contraction of cooling igneous intrusions. Results of numerical modelling
suggest that these dilatant zones were important for fluid focusing and ore formation.
