In April 1976,Vaucheria lii Rieth was found within a cultivated algal sample which was collected from a lowland brook near the village of Milsbeek, Prov. Limburg (The Netherlands) on February 10th of the same year.V. lii occurred, intermingled in aVaucheria-mat withV. aversa Hass.,V. prona Christ.,V. geminata (Vauch.) DC andV. racemosa (Vauch.) DC.
